ANDALUSIA DAY

ANDALUSIA DAY (28TH FEBRUARY 2021)

Andalusia Day (28th February) is a regional holiday celebrated to commemorate the referendum for Andalucía to become an autonomous community within Spain, which was held on 28th February, 1980.

In cooperation with the program "Vivir y sentir el Patrimonio" ("Living and feeling our Heritage"), students in the third year of ESO have explained to our assistant Amanda how to cook their favourite traditional dishes from our region.

In order not to forget our recipes, they have recorded some of them as a present to take to the United States. We hope Amanda likes them!

 HAPPY SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

As every 14th of February, Valentine's Day is celebrated around the world. This year students have learnt about the origin and history of this popular celebration, learning specific vocabulary, reading and writing love quotes, different ways to say "I love you", easy Rhymes or singing the popular song: All you need is love" by The Beatles.

In the 3rd and 4th year, students have also watched a short film called "97% Love Match", which have generated an interesting debate about apps and dating.

We have also had an interesting conversation with our American Language Asssistant, Amanda, about how Saint Valentine is celebrated in the United States and we have made different comments about the following video:

In French, students have written their love cards or Valentines ("Cartes de Saint Valentin")
